Has any used the ramp out of Myr Mar lately? I am planning on fishing that corner this weekend and am hoping to launch from there. Let me know how it is for depth….
    Thanks in advance.

The Myr Mar ramp, harbor and lake is fine for depth. That said, there are quite a few “spots” within a half mile of shore, both east and west a half mile of the harbor, that come up to less than 3ft. When running at HALF throttle, with the engine digging DEEP, these spots are a problem. More than just the 2 MAIN reefs! Bow DOWN on plain or bow down on idle…nothing in-between is a sure bet when cruising the area. No official markers are in these areas.

Do you mean Phil’s Myr Mar Marina? Does anyone ever use the large marina that is just north of McDonald’s in Garrison? We used it two years ago and it was great ramp, just can’t remember how shallow it gets after you leave the marina and enter the main lake. Anyone know the name of this place? Its got brown condos beside it?

There are alot of birds down this way, most years. However, the DNR is predicting a 25% decline this year for reasons they cant figure. I’m pretty sure it will be another good year though. There are alot of public areas to hunt and most landowners will grant permission if you wait until after the first few weeks when alot of family come back to hunt.

    I fish until Thanksgiving.
I hunted that area some years ago but eventually went down to Ringgold & Union counties for a chance a quail. Quail dogs are all dead now and the dogs I have now are untained. That is a disaster on coveys.
