Hi, just booked my trip with Garrison’s for the first weekend in Jan, but have never been on Mille Lac before. What baits should I not be without when I go? Looking for productive sizes and colors as well. Thanks.
Any of the small to medium size jigging spoons are a must, Swedish pimples, Slammers, Crushers or Weasels. Colors almost depend on the day. I prefer Greens, Oranges, gold and glow. I use many different combos of these colors.
Pound em on the bottom, hold em suspended momentarily and repeat. Feel for the hit, set the hook.
There is also the old bobber set-up and wait method on your second line to see what the hit of the day is.
