Ice Up Soon?

Here on Mille Lacs some of the bays are starting to ice over. Many of the smaller lakes in the area are now froze over. None of the lakes in this area are safe yet for any ice fishing.
What we need to get the main lake to freeze is a good cold snap……..and the forecast calls for just that!
If we would get some colder weather and few good cold windy days to get the water turned over, we might see the main lake starting to freeze.
    I’ll keep you posted here…….

    Bobber,

Then you need to see a pink/orange colored sunset the old timers say. Because that means the next day will be windy…..blowing in a cold front….followed by calm, clear, and cold nights. Something like that…..I guess it depends which coffee shop you stop at.

Yes, we had those condions last evening.
It’s something how we all go with the old timers saying!
