Mille lacs Ramps

I believe its called the Ceder ramp on the SE side of the lake. Looked at launching there saturday night. No go. Way to shallow. There was one truck completly in the water and out to the end of the dock and still didnt look like they had anough water to launch the boat. The two guys in the baot next to them where both wet up to the knees. Looks like the holes at the end of the ramps must of filled in with sand. This ramp might be okay for small boats or shallow loading trailers. Might want to look for other options if you dont own one of these.

What have you guys found at the other ramps this year?

I would not even consider Malmo since it was tough early in the season. Although it has to be one of the worst ramps on the lake.

Eddy’s has launch at your own risk signs up at 2 out 3 launchs!!!!!So if that tells you anything!!

I would imagine that the public access by the Casino and Pikes Point are terrible as well!!!!

I was out of Eddy’s last Thurs with a guy who had a 20′ Ranger, and got on and off without much difficulty. Launch fee was 10.00

Mac’s Twin Bay is the only good ramp available on the east side of the lake.

Eddies had signs on there own ramps? What is the ramp like right in isle. Not sure of what the name is. That channel there looks to have only a narrow path left open threw the weeds.

Went out of the landing across from the casino on Saturday night. Going out wasn’t bad (motor trimmed way up) but the waves made coming in a bit difficult. I think I’m taking Eddy’s this weekend.

Eddys said that I would get my boat stuck in the sand or clay whatever the bottom is like…the prop wash hole has been filled in for some reason…..they suggest you use the access right in front of the cafe…..I am reporting what I seen on saturday afternoon…..go ahead and launch at eddys if you like…I am sure they will tell you the same thing!!!!!!
Just trying to warn people about the danger of the shallow water!!!!

It doesn’t sound like anybody here stays at the state park, but if you do make sure to use the ramp in the lakeview campground. I used the other ramp at the park. Putting in was fine but pulling out I hit a rock driving it on. Put some nice scratches in my boat . A guy right after me did the same thing with his Skeeter. The lakeview ramp worked much better.

The ramps at Agate Bay are good to use, plenty deep. Launched there this past weekend.

I’d have to agree with Mad Jack. The ramp at Agate Bay is excellent.

The Agate ramps are like rockets, your boat drops stright down. I used the south of the 2 last night. Check out all teh perch in the bay also.

My shack is at barnachles, so that is where we normally launch from. We plan to fish the east side tomorrow nioght and I would like to launch over there as well. I have never used an access over on that side. Where are the good ones you guys mentioned located? Are you coming out of Fisher’s or is there a public access over there? Those of you that launch over there, please let me know. Looks like there predicting strong winds for tomorrow night Good Luck

We launched out of Liberty Beach last weekend on the East side and it was fine. The for pay access close to the restaurant was in better shape than the DNR access at the other end of the marina, but both were plenty deep. Terry’s boat harbor is one of the best bets on the West side.

Fishers has a good landing also. Can get 3 boats wide on it if needed. they have a good harber to launch into. Out in front it is shallow sand for a little was.

I have used the casino ramp a couple of times since Labor Day weekend and have found it to be not too difficult to navigate. Just keep that motor trimmed up. In the dark check and double-check that the trim is high enough, and do not rely on the trim gauge.

I found a rock pile just south of Fishers (60 yards out from the shore) that read 1′-3″ on the finder and then my motor found out that my finder is accurate. Just a small nick on the keel, thankfully. If your GPS is reading 3′-0″ or less, stay awake and trim up.

Anybody have any info on the Cove Bay ramp? I know you got to run a gauntlet to get out on the lake. But how is the ramp itself? Thanks!

Castaways is in rough shape. Went out Fri night, didn’t get 40yds off shore and was beached!! Barely got loose! Getting back in was hairy as well, rubbed bottom almost the entire way. Not good.

Used the ramp at twin bay this weekend and it was very nice. The shallowest reading all the way out to the main lake I found was 4′. Piece of cake. Now if they could just do something about the parking there.

We launched at the casino launch this Saturday. Use the North ramp. The other one has a big frost heave in it. Was able to get on and off no problem. Water got pretty skinny once we got out of the bay. 16 to 18 inches. Kept the motor up and never touched. No green bouy’s marking the channel, only red ones.

Used pikes point tonight. Same old same old. Looks like they leveled out the ramps a little over last year. There are lights on the markers out in front of the ramp. Dock is still in. It sure would be nice if they ever got around to painting some lane lines to follow while backing the boat up. It can get a little trick at night because while backing up its hard to see the ramps or dock over the gravel hump at the top of the ramp.
As always this ramp will be a prop eater with a east wind blowing at it. If that is the case maybe try one of the resort harbors on the west side.

Any one put in at north garrison or weathwood lately?

I put in at North Garrison last night and today, it is fine when calm, only about 2 feet deep from buoys to dock but the hole is deep enough to drive boat on the trailer…just trim up and go slow. I wouldn’t recommend with the wind blowing in though..

I saw some guy at the wealthwood landing two weeks ago try and get his big ranger off the trailer. He back his truck into the water and was a ways from shore. He tried and tried to get the boat off but eventually gave up and drove away. It’s really shallow quite a ways from shore on the north end.

Put in at North Garrison last night also. Not to bad. It would be tough with the wind blowing the wrong way. There is also no lights there either so make sure and have a good latern or spot light for loading up after dark. Also remember to take you trolling rods out of the vertical holders while driving intro the parking lot. Left mine in last night and had a lure snag a tree and spool my reel. One of these days I will figure out what Im doing and quit doing stuff like this.

Thought I had a possom for a second. It was interisting reeling up a few hundred feet of line in the parking lot and then trying to fish a lure out of a tree about 15′ above ground. Stand back folks. I know what Im doing.
