Just returned from Mille Lacs, I did not have any 50 fish nights but my guests for the trip both caught and released their biggest eyes ever. Bobber, thanks for the information you provided. I will have some pictures posted later this week. How did everyone else do?

    Don,

Sounds like you had some success too. I was out Saturday night for a couple hours and boated 9 with a 29.5″ being the biggest for me that evening. 0.8-1.2 mph was the speed that produced for me. I hated to go in, but I had to. (Other half was waiting for me)

I should be up a couple times this week.

I am heading up Wednesday night for 4 nights. I hope the wind cooperates. The temp outlook looks brrrrrrrrrrr…… But a 29’er will make me forget about that.

You will have to do something to slow your boat down….How long will your trolling motor last?? Youneed to be right at that 1.5 to 1.9 mph for the best results.

Don I’m glad to here that you had some luck…….I had two more zero fish outings? last night I froze my a.. off and never saw a fish caught near or around my boat. The fishing this fall has been really spotting.

Sunday noon I was getting my boat ready for another night on the pond when I noticed all these small perch in the shadows of my boat and lift! The small perch where so tightly grouped together, that you could hardly see through them…….ton’s. This is signs that I think the perch population is on it’s way back. James has said that he has had many fish spit up numbers of perch in his boat, even has snagged some in the shallows. All these signs of small perch tell’s me that we may have a tuff winter bite ahead of us this winter?

Well now with the snow on the ground here around Mille Lacs I think it might be getting close to time to store the boat for winter……It will be ice time before we know it, the water temps here are down to 44 deg.s and it’s cold on the water.

Bob, I hear ya there! Almost time to get the boat out. We had water temps of 37 degrees last night. Saw some skim ice on shallow ponds and standing water on the way back to town today.

    Man, winter is comming fast!

Here’s a photo of one of those Mille Lacs Walleyes. This is one of the fish caught by Don Hansons Crew that he was guiding on the 19th of Oct. This one is of Dave Fern and a nice eye that was caught just north of Indian Point.

Here’s another nice walleye caught by Dave Fern on the evening of the 19th. This is the largest walleye caught to date by Dave. Good job putting them on some quality fish Don and that must of been some great info Bobber.Steve
