Here’s the latest from EFN Pro-Staff’er James Holst on what happened with the night bite on Mille Lacs over the weekend. Sounds like quite a few boats made it out and from the looks of the pics, the bite is good once you’ve found the fish.

I have more confessions to make… I had another bad outing on Thursday night. I am probably among those “other boats” James sees off in the distance not catching fish. As Thursday night wore on, I decided to change my plans and head for the family place on Woman Lake for the rest of the weekend. We didn’t exactly hammer ’em there but we caught enough to keep us busy and it is always nice to have a walleye meal or two to show for your efforts.

I’m not much of a bass angler but we did catch two huge smallies by accident on Thursday night. Both were well over 19″.

I’ll be plugging away on Mille Lacs plenty more this fall. The warm water just created havoc on my usual crankin’ spots the last couple weeks.
