I have heard that the Muskies have turned on? Has anyone here had any luck? My neighbor went up to the northend Monday, only to have the wind kick-up and cause a change.
He saw some fish and had one follow…….he’ll be back at it this weekend he said.

I don’t have any reports from the pond, but the metro lakes seem to have turned on also. Talked with a gentleman on Sat that boat a 50 and 40 off Minnetonka. Being the eye guy I am, I’ve never fished for muskie. I’m starting to buy the gear little by little whenever I find a clearance item anyway.

What are some of your favorite pond lures for the might ski??

    Thanks!!!

Waterfowler-on your end of town- Tonka, Waconia, and the city lakes(Harriet, Calhoun) are all good. White Bear, and Bald Eagle are good in the northeast.

Out of town, Cass, Leech, Vermilion and Mille Lacs are all very good. I am sure there are others too-but those are the better know.

    Bobber,

I talked to friend of mine the other night and he has been seeing more and more muskies making their move to the rock piles as of the last couple weeks while fishing smallies.
He has set hooks into 2 now and saw several other semi-interested parties.

Yes DeeZee, I do believe it’s time to put the swimming suit away. I don’t care to see one of those long Muskies off the dock. In the past I have seen a couple along side my dock here at my home!
I had one Muskie come up to my boat while fishing smallies down by Doe Island. They are such a monster in the water up close to the boat……..
Jerry Crawford here in Isle, released a Muskie last week 54 1/2 inches down south of Big Point…….
I’ll stick with smallies and walleyes I think……..

Last night my son and I were fishing a league event on Lake Independence, out of ten guys 3 muskies were caught while bass fishing. Josh had one on that tail danced from one end of the boat to the other about five times and landed right in the net. A 33″er the others were 37″ and 41″. The fishing was great for the 3 1/2 hrs we had to fish.
It was good to get on the water again.

Hook and Bob, we should try for these guys early this fall between nail pounding at Hooks! I got some stuff, not a lot. My cat rods would work out well I think…
