First off, Welcome to the site. Alot will depend on Water Temp and wind. But my bet is a bobber bite will be going and maybe even some cranking in some transition areas to shallower water. The moon phase will be right for your trip dates. Where will you be on the lake?

watch the forum here as your trip gets closer. That will be the best way to find out whats working best at the time.

You will get more input here so if you have some more questions fire away.

    Welcome to the site 1976duck

Same as Dman. A little to early to tell, but I’m guessing Night bobbers and perhaps trolling. During the day could be rigging the transition areas with leeches and crawlers. Stay tuned into IDA. This Mille Lacs Walleye forum starts to get heated up about that time again and gains steam to about end of October with a Big Bang at the end.

I must also agree with what the other two said. Watch and read this website and they will steer you in the right direction. My guess would be trolling right now.

Don’t be afraid to pull spinners and live bait that time of the year. I know several boats who did well last year during the day while I was sleeping.

For a lot of us, that is when the night trolling starts to kick off. Pulling shallow running stick baits around weedlines can be a lot of fun!!

Duck, make sure you post how you did. I also will be watching the posts. I will be at sunset bay resort Sep 16-23. First time I will have to wet a line this year and can’t wait to get back!

I’ll be up there with my son at the same time trolling shallow crank baits on the West side enjoying the full moon bite. If you want to try the nite bite send me a private message and I’ll try to help you out.
