Just got a report from a friend of mine who has a place on the west side just south of Garrison. They had a big east wind last night/this morning and is doing a lot of damage. He said honest 10 footers just off shore with big wave crashing ashore. Many, many totally destroyed docks and lifts. Lot’s of boats washed up on shore or sunk. He said the boats are not staying on the lifts right now. His boat is a total loss. Add in another big rain for more washed out roads and driveways……Big Mess

Just talked to my neighbor up north and she said that some places are completely surrounded by water, you have to wade in to them. The only thing above water are the trailer houses, the driveways and yards are under water.
Can’t wait to see my new crawl space under my house. Bet its got water in it after all this rain.

When we left Mille Lacs on Monday afternoon, you could literally canoe the ditches from Big Point to Isle! Can’t imagine another 8 inches on top of that last soaker on Sunday night.

    Wow.

Sounds a bit like you guys might have to employ some “river tactics” the next time out….. pitching the trees…. crankin’ the flooded willows….

Not to make light of someone’s cruddy situation. Sounds like a real bad deal up there. By the way, keep your water. We don’t need it down here in the river. We just finally got visibilities approaching a foot back and all that rain is going to tear us up again.

Sorry James, but I can only hope that our water level in Mille Lacs peaks soon. And the water gets down the Rum River and than to you asap with out more damage of course.
I guess by looking at my docks the lake here is up around 10 inches. I need the lake to reseed soon or I’ll have to pull my dock in, as I can’t raise it any higher……
I’m not looking forward to the wind out of the west. We have had easterly winds the past couple days. It could be just like the west side here, if people don’t get docks, lifts and boats raised up. I had a big pontoon float in my harbor yesterday, broke loose from a place down the line…….
