Well, the fishing is everything I’d heard. We fished in some of the biggest waves I’ve been on in years, but man were the fish snapin’. It took us about 30 mins to find the fish, but once we did, we had a blast. Our big fish were 26″ and 24″ fish, with numerous 18 -22″. We had our best bite on leeches with a red or bronze gammy hook. I’m guessing the waves to have been an easy 5 feet, with a 7 thrown in at times.

If you haven’t been to the pond yet, you better go while this fishery is on fire……

Just curious, has everyone been catching fish everywhere. We have been there the past couple of weekends and caught 50+ each day….first place we went and fished there both sat. and sun. last weekend and first gravel bar we tried this weekend..the same story. Leeches…leeches….leeches!

Because of the conditions, we didn’t go far from the public landing, Cove bay??? Anyway, we were the the only boat in this area. I did see one nice eye caught in the buoys as we were coming in about 3:00pm. I’m guessing the fish are biting everywhere……

It is amazing how the fish are snapping pretty much everywhere. I’ve been mostly on the sand this spring but I launched in Roland’s bay last weekend and fished off of Sherman’s point on the way back from the sand. It was interesting to be hammering fish up on the sand and then motor to a completely different part of the lake with completely different structure only to have the bite pick up where it had left off.
