Fishnfool, I was up at the pond this past weekend and was surprised to see Cars and trucks where peppered all over the lake in the bay in Isle. Talked to some folks out of Hunters and they had there house 1.5 miles out, but where traveling to and from with a fourwheeler. They said there was 10-12. At Hunters most vehicles where parked on the ice in the lot on shore. No Ice is ever safe, just error on the side of caution always.

I talked with Linda from HJ’s yesterday, she said they are allowing vehicles on the ice, but you are limited to 5 miles an hour. Sounds like they are picking up a few keeper eyes. The perch are biting, but the eye fishing has been better. Good Luck!!

Fished on the northeast corner out of Fishers resort on Sat. Ice was running 7 -8 inches about 1.5 miles out.No cars or trucks yet but atv’s and sleds were out in force. The bite was pretty good in 22ft of water , caught roughly 25 eyes and another 30 perch or so.Small golden shiners under a bobber worked best , also got a few here and there on a variety of jigging spoons. For the best action stay away from the crowds with the relatively thin ice the crowds tend to “push” the fish out and away.Good luck and have fun.

Hey fishinfool…….the ice conditions I found this past Sunday on Mille Lacs was good. The ice thickness where I set up was around 13 inches. Yes you do need to use caution on any ice. With the weather changes coming do expect the ice to be expanding with the warming temps. The ice could be moving the next few days so we will need to use extra caution. I would like to see a little snow come and cover the lakes surface. Right now it is difficult to stay on a path, as I have been only using atv and snowmoblies to access the lake. I think its more difficult with bare ice to locate and avoid cracks. It’s easier to see them in the snow. Lakeside has been one of the few resorts up along the east side here that has been driving cars out. Today I did’nt see any vehicle traffic from the eastside around to Garrison. There were no cars out on the ice in Garrison that I saw. Barnacle’s has pulled out some houses, put they appear to have a pressure ridge out along the northend just off shore. I would recomend checking with your resort before heading on out. Like the DMAN say’s “ice is never safe, error on the side of caution always”
