Here we have Jim Kaufer (AGAIN…lucky dog!) with the first two fish caught on 10-02-01 up on Mille Lacs. These are a couple of my favorite pics from the week, even though they may not be the absolute largest fish we caught, with that sunset in the background it really brings home the added beauty of the experience of fishing Mille Lacs in the fall at night.

We were working a spot between two rock humps with a nearby rocky point…. slowly trolling the area between the two. The wind was blwoing right in between these two pieces of structure and, by the end of the night, we had one of the most incredible nights of fishing I’ve ever even heard of, let alone experienced. Later this guy actually had a pair of 29″ walleye… and the 30.25″ ‘eye that I’ve already posted….. plus a bigger pike! I was pressing him hard for lottery numbers in the AM when we hit the docks…LOL

What a night. And I’ll bet the next full moon will be as good… if not better!
