    Wait a minute Mike…I can tell by the background that it was taken at Myr Mar!
    Nice fish! Looks like Hook’s from last weekend!

    I believe it was am but don’t know the exact length. He said minnow head on a spoon dead sticked. I wasn’t planning to fish this weekend so I could get the new boat rigged, but seeing that thing made me wonder. They had a nice mess of fish for the day. And to think, off of one of Liberty’s roads, just a matter of which one?

    Here’s the email he sent;

    Hey Mike-

    Thought I’d shoot you a quick note about a Mille Lacs run I made on Monday. The perch were still a little sluggish after the cold snap, but we were able to pick a few up.

    We headed out to the mud from Liberty Beach. After only pulling one perch off of our first piece of structure, we moved to a neighboring flat and found a more active school. From past experience, the more active day time perch are generally deeper, so we setup off of the 27′ flat, on a quick break, in 33′ of water.

    I was using a swedish pimple and minnow head on one rod and a glow type jig with a minnow head on the other. Both rods caught fish. They were definitely more interested in smaller presentations. The key was to dead-stick the bait. I did not pick up a single jig fish all day. It had to be dead still – which was fine by me.

    The fish that did bite were very nice. I only had to throw one 8″ fish back, the rest were beauties. The two 13″ were worth the trip.
