The GTG sure didn’t sound like any fun…..sure wish I could’ve made the trip. Very envious of those who made it.
Yet, I do get my first taste of Mill Lacs this upcoming weekend (hence why I didn’t make the GTG). Putt2win has booked out of Hunters quite a while back and it’s this weekend. Wondering what was found to be the best way to get their coming from east of the cities. Any help from the western wisconsinites would be of great help. Thank you.

The best way I have found is to take 35 up to Hinkley and cut across 3 to 65 then to 47 to 27 and you are there, you will go by a couple of bait shops on the way if you need to stop. Otherwise if you just take 35 to 18 it will take you straight to the lake only a couple miles from Hunter’s

Better yet, take 35 to 18 in Finlayson. Take 18 west. It dead ends into Mille Lacs! Take a right, and you are at hunters in 1.3 minutes. There is bait in Finlayson at the gas station.

Eyeguides direction are easy to follow, but JBongers directions will cut 20 miles off the trip….

Not true. We actually had 2 vehicles take the different routes, not breaking speed limits…and the 18 route arrived quite a few minutes earlier.

But, the Hinkley route goes by White Castle, and your buddies will appreciate it later on in the evening.

    Both are good choices.

Did you know that from Pine City, Mille Lacs is only 40 miles away as the crow flies? (On GPS)

You drive about 70 getting there!

BTW, just checked on the GPS, it is 32 miles from Hinkley regardless of which road you take. Try both!

the route thru Finlayson is definately faster if you stop at Whitey’s on the way, because that will make you stop at least one more time before you get there

Was anyone around Buckshot this weekend to verify this?

Just to add to the directions, have any of you taken 95 in North Branch to Cambridge on 65 through Mora then 27 to 47 to Mille Lacs. I have taken this way a few times and got up there quick, but w/ speeding . Just curious if anybody tried this route and which route usually turned out the quickest.

I swear, during the poker game, the windows were open more time than closed!

    Analyze that!

Now you know how he got renamed Buttshot!

Or was it later in the bar?

Heiman, that is how I go every time. I have tried a bunch of different ways and I like that the best. Always looking for a shorter route though.
