Anyone know a decent fishing hole on mille lacs that is within walking distance from shore? no atv or snowmobile… and thinking of going up on monday. Don’t feel like sinking my truck.. or are the ice conditions decent enough for a silverado?

a lot of people are driving on the lake, the probelm on the east are from the crack near shore most resorts are on top of it and people are driving.

Mcqoids just north of Isle has good ice, Liberty and Hunters on the East side have bridges and are driving out at this time.

Good Luck…always ask at the resort your going out of about current conditions.

So the east side is pretty safe? Anyone hear about the west side? I have only fished the east side once… with no luck (open water). wouldn’t have a clue where to start.

Big Point. You can park at the old Flagship now owned by a local Vets organization. (Forget the official nane) I usually go in and ask the bartender if it’s ok. Always yes. 400-600 yard hike out from there and you are fishing.

ps. To get to Big Point, take 47 to Big Point Dr and follow that road around to the Vets club. The Wharf is the first resort. Long walk to the point from there.
