Or all you guys going deer hunting?? The lake should/could be pretty quiet. The weather man is predicting winds from west and south, but not higher than 10mph. Of course, I trust that forecast like I would trust a 17 year on prom night with my daughter.

Kooty, you going out? A little snow never hurt, if you need a net man, I am game.
November 3, 2005 at 9:52 am #393890I am headed up on Friday to the shack and dragging the boat along and will fish if the weather cooperates.Let me know if you want to tag along. The cold front slowed down the bite tonight but I guess you can expect a slow night at least once a month.
November 3, 2005 at 1:08 pm #393915I’m on the fence right now. The forecast has changed every 12 hours so who knows. I might have to go down to P2 and tailpipe Dezurik also….
November 3, 2005 at 2:00 pm #393928I hear you there Kooty. Might be back to the river for me next week. So many places to fish. So little time.
November 3, 2005 at 6:35 pm #394070I am scheming as we speak. Working on getting out on the pond Friday night and P4 Saturday. Chances are not good; but a guys gotta dream!

November 3, 2005 at 9:20 pm #394151I plan to hit Mille Lacs tomorrow night with my bro-in-law and a buddy. I had not been getting on Mille Lacs with my customary frequency this season but three times in the last month has felt a little more like ‘normal’. Let me know if you are up there kooty and we can compare notes.
November 3, 2005 at 11:18 pm #394193I just looked at the weather into the night it’s suppose to die down to 0mph. I about fell out of my chair. Who do they think they are kidding. I’m likely going to be up. I’m taking the boat to work with me. I’ll be on 82, either sha bush or pike point landing. I will decide when I get to the lake.
November 4, 2005 at 2:07 pm #394307I plan to launch out of the Casino but have no idea where I will go from there.
November 5, 2005 at 8:36 pm #394510Arg! For some reason I managed to miss the radio question/post yesterday. For what good it will do now… yes, I have one. Dang.
Anyway… how’d folks do? We got into a mess of 14″-22″ fish. Enough to actually be selective and throw back everything bigger than 20″ or smaller than about 15.5. We did catch a handful of bigger fish, in the 24″-26″ range but nothing bigger than 26″. It was a fun night and we have a nice big fish fry in our future.
On a funny side note, it seems every time I have my brother-in-law in the boat, he manages to catch his obligatory slimer. We joked about it several times last night until, you guessed it, he brought in a 10.2 pounder to stink up the boat (as usual).
I didn’t expect to see many boats out there but the balmy calm weather must have enticed guys to give it a go. There was a decent number of boats on the lake.
November 5, 2005 at 8:39 pm #394511Forgot to mention… I bet 75% of our fish came on pauses. We also ran the electric pretty much all night thanks to the calm seas. Everyone always cites clown as a great Mille Lacs crankbait color. For some reason Clown has been cruel to me in the past. I finally got that monkey off my back last night. We caught a lot of fish on Clown, but also glass/perch, and firetiger.
November 6, 2005 at 1:04 am #394537I got out last night and fished in the same areas that Schnauzer is mentioning. Ended the night boating around 20 fish, with 2 26″ and 1 26.5″ be the biggest. The rest where the usualy 15-22″ variety. We keyed in on the 9-11 foot depths that still had standing weeds. Using our electric we where able to stay around 1.3 mphs and realy hammer these spots and stay in the strike zone. The magic color for us variade throughout the night, early silver/Blue chrome later inn the evening firetiger. What worked for us last night was only putting out 50″ feet of line. By doing this we where able to stay out the the weeds but still present the baits in front of the fish. It was a great night out there with calm seas.
Hoping to get out there again soon!
November 7, 2005 at 2:41 am #394687I tried calling you cell also, but I kept getting some weird voice message, so I must have the wrong number. I never heard a peep on the radio all night, however, there were never more than two or three other boats around us at a time.
