Just got back from the pond,I talked Skindog into one more trip. The fish are still hitting in slot machine bay and this may sound like a broken record but Firetiger HJ12 80 feet back in 8 FOW was the ticket.WE fished there from after dark till 10 PM or so and caught 20 fish. The big fish have been few and far in between lately so we decided to try some new spots. That didnt really pan out but picked up 7 more fish with a 24 being the biggest. It was another beautiful night on the pond with very little wind but it was black as coal out on the lake.Very few boats on the lake everyone must have put them away.I think Ill stick around till freezeup like last year. That reminds me need to put ice chisel in boat.Ill be headed back up this weekend with the boat and deer rifle.Looking for big bucks during the day and big eyes at night.Good luck and Ill keep the light on for ya

Nice work as always. Those big girls are starting to seem a little elusive.
November 2, 2005 at 3:48 pm #393600It didnt take us long to get on fish last night either. Hooked up a nice 24″er 3 minutes into trolling. A few more nice ones soon after that. then the snot rockets showed up and the the fishing started to slow. We managed around 20 walleyes and 8 or so pike last night. The size was off a little. Did pick up a nice eye close to 28″s near pikes point.
Lazer craw rogues took top honors in our boat last night. Tiger roan came in second. Didnt realy spend much time on any other colors. These 2 have been way to productive in the last few trips.Water temps where hitting 47 last night.
November 2, 2005 at 7:26 pm #393690Without question one of the best bites still going. Casting Rogues Blue Chrome with orange belly in that 5 to 7 FOW Cast.. pause and tick the rocks from deep to shallow on Indian points windy side. Last nights time frame was between 7 – 9pm – produced 12 fish 4 over 28″ and up to 10.13lbs . Taking off to Qubec on business for a week. I dont see it slowing down at all. Dropping temps are slowing the fish down but not the bite. Casting this time of year is making a huge difference.

Give me a holler when you get back, might still be able to work something out
November 2, 2005 at 8:40 pm #393731Kind of makes me wonder if all the boat traffic on shallow reefs are making the big girls a little shy.
Throwing cranks into shallow areas would be a stealthy presentation.

November 3, 2005 at 12:39 am #393810I think Mike has a horseshoe somewhere up his He seems to always get into the big girls!! Great fish Mike!!
November 3, 2005 at 2:46 am #393841Its all a matter of showing these gals a good time guys. Start out with a nice meal. A little work out. Talk to them nicely while in the boat. A quick photo to show them how important they are and then a gentle release. I know this gal swam away with a smile on her face last night.
This gal was the largest I have got in the boat this fall on mille lacs. She put up a great fight and would just not quit all the way in. Back and forth. I would reel in 5 she would take 3. I would take 10 she would take 8. What a blast.
A couple of things that seem to be real important to keeping these big gals on the line is number one a loose drag when fishing no streach line. The second thing I have been trying lately is to stop realing when these gals start head shaking and turn tail and run. Not to sure if this second item is to important since cranking on a loose drag might not be that big of deal but for some reason I started thinking it was just the wrong thing to do. We all know that at times these big fish seem to stick to those lures like a bug on the wind sheild. Others are holding on by a thread and looking for any reason to come undone. Thanks for the fishing trip again TBO.
November 3, 2005 at 1:44 pm #393924last night was no different down here on cove bay. no fatties, just those little 17″ to 23″ers. a dozen fish in a hour and a half. going out tonight, then i will take a week off for deer killing. hopefully the muskie fishing will improve as the water temps drop. castaway, thanks for reminding me about the chisel. i break ice also. i don’t understand what all this talk of boat winterizing is all about……tom f
BTW there was another boat out there last night with no bowlight. i told him about his problem and he did make 1 more pass and went in. what is it about having working lights on your boat at night???eyefishingPosts: 61November 3, 2005 at 2:32 pm #393949I think I have been seeing the same guy a few times out that direction lately. BTW what is all this talk about ice picks? What are you going to do with that? Water temp was 48.5 last night and still pushing 50 main lake. Its still like bath water out there. Talking mid to upper 50’s again next week.

Are these the Super Rogues?
Sully
November 3, 2005 at 3:40 pm #393988These are the suspending super rogues. 5,3/4″. Getting tough to find them around the north end of the cities. Dont think you will find them near the lake either. Gander usually carries a good supply. There just mostly sold out right now. Fleet farm’s isle where bare. No husky jerks and just a couple of rogues.
#12 husky jerks work well also. Make sure and have a firetiger one of these.
