They shouldn’t be allowed to hunt or fish in Minnesota for the next 5 years minimum!!!!! Glad to see them finally caught!!!!

I agree. This is something that they knowingly did. They admitted guilt. They should lose more than some money.

They should publish pictures of the poachers!

Is that a walleye pointer in the back of that truck?

Glad they got caught, whoever they are.

Another question, when they openly admit overfishing, and they knew the law, why do they still have a truck, boat, rods, etc. I would think all those things would be confiscated (sp.) rather then a lousy $800 fine. That does not seem to be near enough for the amount they took.

You know they are Packer fans too. j/k

    Derek,

Why don’t you make a copy of that article and go post it on the bulletin board at the resort so everyone there knows what happened and to keep an eye on them in the future.

You don’t have to worry about the news getting around Wahkon. It will be interesting to hear about it in Mugg’s.
I’ve seen a pontoon anchored up on a community perch jerkin’ spot w/ “Perch Express” on the side. It did go towards the trailer park when it left. Oh well…

What bugs me is the DNR say they are short on cash but they let these people off with a slap on the hand.Take there boats and vehicles and auction them off and we will all be better for it.I would like to see a boat or truck that had donated by your local poacher written on the side of it.

These people have probably been taking a lot more than that till they finally got caught.Im not saying everyone but there are a few people on the lake that think because they can go out from a dock and come back to the dock that the laws dont apply to them. These same people complain about the natives netting.Go figure

Now that you mention it, I remember seeing that pontoon out there also. From now on, when I see them on the water I’m going to motor up and tell that I’m keeping an eye on them!

Someone tell the DNR to bring the filets to Hunters! I’ll bring the beer batter! We can charge folks, and donate the $$$ to ARM!

Your kidding me. Can’t they be donated to a shelter or somewhere?? I’m sure there are hundreds of people that would eat them up!!! That’s sad!! Stupid people, not only hurting our resource, but then wasting the fish on top of it!

    From the article:

“”They all said they were sorry and were wrong to do it. They also said they would all take the blame and pay whatever they had coming.” Each was fined $872.”

They were caught Oct. 16th. This thread was started the 26th. How did they get in and out of the court system so fast? Why were they allowed to just pay a fine? Shouldn’t they have had their boat and licenses taken and loose their fishing and hunting priviledges for a while also? $872/each is not enough.

Some old white farts seem to think they can break the law and stuff their freezers with no consequences because they have done it for years scott free. Thanks to someones tip they finally got busted and their name is dirt on the lake. If you see them make sure to let them know the word is out on them, a little public shame may send them packin some where else. From a friend of the basspastor.
