Well let me start off by saying that this bite rocks I will deffinately be making this a yearly thing. I’d like to start off by saying thanks to george and nitti’s Hunters point resort,( the fish fry was great). My Guide for sunday, and monday was Mike W. We started out on sunday 10/16 on knox point trolling #12 husky jerks. Dubya started off with the firetiger and I went with the clown. It only took 1/2 hour and were on the fish. It was very rough out there on the big pond and I didn’t figure that the 16-1/2′ smoker craft could take the abuse but she weathered it well and we managed to stay dry.

Here is Mike pictured with the only picture worthy eye on Sun. she was a healthy 27-1/4″ we did well over all with a total of 25 fish. Monday was a bit better but it sure didn’t start out that way. It took almost an hour to get the first one. Although after that fish I managed to get my personal best, a fat piggy of 27-1/2″ we were on a roll until about 11pm when it slowed down to a crawl. We then decided to pick up stakes and move to myrmar reef.

It didn’t take long before Dubya hooked up with some nice fish 26-1/2″ and a 26-1/4″ We couldn’t believe it but they were hammering fast and hard.

We were in the typical 8-12 foot range and trolling speeds between 1.5 to 1.9 mph. I also got a nice 26″ and to round out the night with a bonus 37-1/2″ pike. All in all it was an awsome experience and now I’m hooked on this full moon bite. Good Fishing and see ya on the water.

I told him to make that fish smile. Didnt mean that tho.
It was a couple of great nights of fishing Joe. Hard to argue with 45 fish for 2 nights. Close to half of those fish went 23″ or bigger. Lots of 26″ eyes the second night. One large pike thrown in to make things interisting also.

After fishing in those waves on the north end sunday night I have new respect for your boat Joe. That was rough but atleast the fish kept biting. Windyest part of the night I hooked into the first 27″er. After a good battle in those waves she comes up to the side of the boat with one hook stuck dead center of its side. What a fight. Hooked into this fish on the outside of the weed line and by the time she went back in the water I was looking around to make sure we where not going to hit any docks.

Second night the red door area was a little slow so we headed west looking for anouther spot someone had told mne about. Not knowing the area or if we where near the spot or not we decided to just strat trolling the weed line that was below us. Wow. 8 walleyes running 26″ to 26.5 in a hour and a half. a few short fish mixed in, lost one realy nice fish after a good battle and caught a nice pike. thought it was going to be hard to top our first night of fish. the second night went well above that.

Had a blast Joe. looking forward to trying this again. Post a photo of that pike you caught.
