Thought I’d make a post and put a few pictures on here from last night. Took a friend from my club and put in near the casino. was a little slow. did talk to Jolly Marine (Wade) and he had good success in 10-12 feet and we moved out to that depths, over weed tops, got a couple fish but still slow. talked to Walleye Warrior and Bobber Al who were doing well on Indian Pt. headed down there and did well with Husky Jerks in 8 feet. overall for the night we landed 10 fish, with 2-25″‘s, 2-26″‘s, and I had a 27 1/4″ as our biggest. Fish were very healthy solid fish. I did not weigh any but know the 27 was over 8lbs. thanks Wade and Walleye Warrior for the tips, that’s what I like about this site: helpful tips with a smile.

will enclose a few pics. this first one is Harry with our first fish of the night, a 25″.

    THanks, Jack…

This was my nicest fish 27 1/4″. Very strong Walleye. Our best colors was clown, and the blue/silver Husky Jerks. Only missed one fish that was on for a couple seconds then shook off. Nice to be out during mild mid Oct.

Thanks for sharing, nice fish, and the pics make me feel like this was a good weekend even if I didn’t get out fishing.

    HI Al,
After you left it was a little slow, I think I already had my 27 before you left. You and W.Warrior were right on with the 8 ft depth. At one point I landed a decent fish, got things squared away and back fishing again, let out my line, and the second I engaged the reel to move the lure, had another fish on and landed. That is just about as fast as one can get to having a double on the same rod. We went back into the bay and made one more run in 10-12 feet with no success, then called it a night. would like to get back up tonight. will have to check the wind forecasts.

    Nice fish Jack!

I could hear you on the radio, but for some reason you couldn’t hear me saturday night.

It sure was a mad house out there.

    Jack,

Nice job! We were up on Sunday night as well, but unfortunately didn’t get the chance to hook up with any IDA guys except Tuck. By the way, thanks go out to Tuck for some info that helped cut down the searching time. It seems like the overcast skies slowed the bite down a bit from Saturday’s bite. We caught 10 fish from 6-12 pm on the NW side of the lake, witht the largest being a 26-1/2 incher. 6-10 FOW on rogues. Here’s a couple pics.

    Rob,
Things have been great except work has not been allowing me to play as much as I would like to. I shot a decent 9-pointer right off the bat this year, so I retired the bow until the rut rolls in. That was probably the only time I will get up to Mille Lacs this fall, but it was a good time. Next time I need to get a motel rather than driving home at 1 am in the morning. Thinking about that all night while I was fishing dampened the spirits a little. Keep me posted on your deer hunting!

    Brian,
Thanks for putting your pics on here. Very nice, fish. What was the length of you biggest one?? Sure is a fun time. You could not DO much better than to get some tips from Tuck, if he told you something about Mille Lacs, THAT IS money in the bank.

Brian, you could have stayed with us! Glad you had fun and got a few! The next night we got 30! What a bite! Jack, look forward to “Hearing you!” Kind of nice having the lake surrounded by IDA members!
