Quick POND Report 10/14/05

Shared the boat last night with Mike W from the site and my cousin who has boated a total of 2 eyes his whole life He’s cousin by marriage. Had a great time fellas. Any way we got some really decent size fish with 4 of them hovering around or above 8 lbs last night. 2 of the big girls came from the rocks and 2 from the inside weedline. Around 1.7 mph seem to work best with darker color stick baits last night, for some reason with the clear night. Hung out on the NW corner just out of the wind and enjoyed a beautiful 6 hours fishing. They seemed to really start to snap around 2 am when we had to get off the lake I also finally got the monkey off my back and boated my first Mille Lacs 28″ plus fish that came in at 28.25″ and decent girth, but not like the fatty my cousin pulled in . Mike pulled the other 2 fatties with his secret lure Heading back up there tonight and will probably post a report and pics Monday! Just got back rooster hunting we saw 20-25 birds in 3 hours Taking a quick nap and heading back out. Key last night seemed to be change of speed or sweeping the rod tips frequently

Thanks for the great trip Rob. Looking forward to seeing those photos. Would think there should be alot of photos from this weekend as it seemed like for awhile every other boat we passed was either hauling in a fish or snapping photos. Good luck tonight Rob.
