We have been getting some very nice perch on the rocks during the day, with a few bonus eys to boot trolling jointed Raps!

I just picked up some more leeches for this weekend! The bobber bite during the daylight has been very good in my boat. As Hook said 6-12 fow has been good, if your not seeing the bobber going down….more just a ways and try new water!
    Good Luck

Hey guys a couple quick questions. Im going too be up saturday and i want too launch at Father Hennepin, that launch doesnt close this time of year does it? There are no gates that close at a certain time?? I’ve never used it thats why im wondering. Also my brother in law and i are going too get on the water mid afternoon and we are thinking about pulling some big plugs around hoping too tangle with a big northern or muskie before we give the walleyes a try. I would think some of the rock points and reefs on that side of the lake would be holding some fish?? Or should i be looking somewhere else for some action on that side of the lake? Thanks for any info.

They do have a gate but I don’t know if they close it.

It wouldn’t make sense to lock it with people using the campground.

Give them a call to make sure –

    I think thats the number.

just talked to my wife who works at father hennepin. she said that the gate should be open because there will be campers in the park this weekend. if it is closed, it isn’t locked because campers have to get out if there is a emergency…….tom f

Why not launch at the Thains River launch? It is very close to Hennipen. Safer water to pass through as well. I don’t think the buoys are out anymore, you need to be careful..regardless of where you launch really.
    Good Luck!

Good point Tuck, If anyone is going to be running around the southend of the lake….they had better know where they are going at all times! Those reefs come up really quit!! And yes, The bouy’s/markers have been pulled for the season.
