Bobber bite.

I have been out the last 2 weekends with my wife and trolled cranks. No luck. Thought I would try slip bobber fishing this weekend, since she doesn’t like trolling anyway. I usually launch out of the casino launch. There will be 4 people this weekend. If the weather is OK, do you think the reef off of Indian point or off of the other point would be good spots. Don’t run around much with the girls in the boat. Once they get cold it is done. Are you guys setting up and just putting the leech about 1 foot of the bottom? Help please. I would like to get the wife and kids on a few fish.

bobbers should be fine, but I would reconsider fishing IP. You are talking about Mille Lacs most popular spot on a Friday night. It will be a zoo with trollers and the spine is very narrow if you were to setup on it you would have a lot of very angry trollers comming at you all night long. Sad to see but some can be pretty disrespectful of your area. Just hate to see you go out and have a bad experience. 95% of the folks are very nice.

Trolled Indian Point last Saturday for about 2 and 1/2 hours. There were 5 to 6 boats bobber fishing on top of it all night while I was there. I just gave them the room that they needed and never crowded them. I will say it is difficult to judge distance on a bobbing set of lights in the pitch black.

There are some good mud flat edges out from that access that should produce. Bring a few rainbow minnows as well.
