The Sept moon cranking bite turned out to be solid. It wasn’t gangbusters but good non the less. We fished fri. thru mon. and spent very little time on the day bite besides throwing for smallies and ski’s. A few pig smallies were brought to the boat over the weekend, 2-22″ both weighing in around 6 lbs. We also put 1 40″ ski in the boat. The moon bite kept us busy with the best bite happening between 8 and 12 midnite on each of the nights, after 12 the rockies turned on and shut the eyes down, at least on our spot. We had a very good bite on Mon. night with about 20 fish coming to the boat between 12-28″, half the fish made the box the rest were in the 24″ range along with a few smaller ones. Overall it was a good weekend and a good warm up for the Oct. moon…can’t wait!! The eye above measured just shy of 28″
