If you were to be bringing the wife and daughter up to the pond say….The next full moon and would like to stay a night on a limited budget, where would you suggest.
Oh ya. The girls are not necessarily night owls so a place on the lake would be great so I could drop them off and go back fishing.
    Thanks for the suggestions.

That mostly depends on where you plan on fishing. McQuoids Inn, Twin Pines Resort, Hunters Point Resort, Red Door Motel, they are all on the lake. There are others too.

Guess I should say that since I am a realtive beginner to Mille Lacs I will be fishing in the south east area. Big Point and the like.

Hunters is right in that area… and they make an awesome spicey chicken breast sandwhich.

wow wife and daughter must be quite troopers, do you realize that you are talking about north central MN at night in late October? It could be nice out, but more then likely temps will be pretty cold, maybe low teens, with a raw north wind and a little snow is not out of the question. Not trying to talk you out of anything, but more warning you of what can happen. If I tried to bring the lady out that time of year all it would get me was a good chewing and short trip.

If you want a resort cabin, then Hunters would be the place to go. If you want just a room McQuoids Inn would be the logical choice. They also have cabins and condo’s.

I would probably choose Hunters. Its closer to Big Point by water, and if thats not putting out fish, Flamingo, Lakeside Reef, Agate Bay Reef, and 3 Mile reef are all close to get to.

Try Scenic Bay Resort. Good rates and nice rooms.

those are all great options. I would give the nod to hunters as well, george is a great guy and the service is good too. food is by far some of the best on the lake. if you want to go on the cheap just don’t ring the bell

Ya you might say they are troopers. Or maybe just stuburn
    enough to do it.
I took the girls deer hunting in Park Rapids a couple of years ago…some remember it being -20 in the woods.
Well they stuck it out. To my surprise too.
Learned something about the girls that weekend. If they put thier minds to it there is not stopping them.

Had the daughter out with me and Chappy last year the weekend after the full moon. It was mighty chilly then too. I heard no complaints.
