    Hey guys,

I’m looking for some advice on fishing the big pond on Monday the 12th. I’ll probably be up there just for the morning hours until probably noon. Can anyone give me some advice on where to find a some feeding walleys? Don’t worry, I’m not a regular on Mille Lacs, so if you can point me toward some fish, I won’t be getting in your way in the future. If anyone wants to e-mail me with the advice, my address is [email protected]. Thanks alot,

    Lars

If you are looking for a meal of fish, i would go after the perch! Lots of good size eaters right now on any rocks! If its not windy look for birds that are feeding or diving into the water. There will be bigger perch around those feeding birds. All you need is a jig and minnow. Otherwise if its windy head to any rock reef/pile and throw a crank bait or bobber with leech!
Any of these suggestions will help you catch fish right now!!Good luck let us know how you do!

    Thanks Ranger,

I appreciate the info. Hopefully the fish will cooperate.

I’ll agree with that approach. Troll the rocks and pick off a few perch with an occasional bonus walleye.

Another idea is, I had some friends up last weekend and the were trolling #5’s on the reef out in front of agate bay catching some decent eyes from 8:30 till about 1:00am

That same Agate Bay area is giving up nice perch also during the day! Got a bunch ourselves last weekend. Go with #5 jointed Shad Raps and stick to around 12′ of water, and 75-125 of line out…

Thanks also, guys. I’ll be doing some of that for the next 3 days. 1/2 mile from our resort. Sweet!

Putz, at your age, you may want to write that down, you may forget it by the time you get up there
