Had the opportunity to go ski hunting this past weekend, however had to decline to finish my move into the new house.
Wish I would have gone……..my buddy hooked a nice 50″ on a black/red bucktail on the north shore. I’ll have pics in a day or 2.
I saw two guys on Myr Mar yesterday tangle into a nice ski. 
Thrashing on the topwater! The fish then threw the hooks at the guy, boy was he upset.
I think they are starting to go on Mille Lacs. Hey Gary when are we going??
Gary you can’t do that to me buddy. Here I think I am going to get a look at a 50″ and no picture. Thats almost as bad as the free beer post. 
I can’t wait to see the pics, what was the girth? We blew a nice fish on forest on sunday, I don’t think it was 50″ but it was a nice upper 40″ fish. I was fishing with a newbie and he lost it at boat side when he saw the fish, he stopped the bait and the fish swam under the boat. It was HOT and I am 100% sure it would have eaten had he figure 8’ed. It was fun to see him shaking like a leaf in the back of the boat 
, I asked what happened, when he stopped the bait, he said I have never seen anything that big before. Thats what I love to see, I think I may have hooked another on lunge hunting. We worked that fish very hard and never saw her again.
Yea, I guess this was a skinny fish. Not very good color either. But hey!!! WHO CARES!!!!!!!! 50 INCHES!!!!
I guess the fish broke his G-Loomis rod too! Apparently, she took a hard, fast run under the boat and his rod slapped the side, snapping it in half!!!!!
Cal!! I’m waiting for you to pull up to the office with the Ranger to haul my butt up there!!!! We will call it a “business trip”!!!!!!!!!
