I’ve been saving vacation for this event since….last year. I’m working on my list of must pack and getting the boat all ready to go. Sorting out the first run of lures. I can’t wait to get up there a week from Thursday. Got two old friends from SD the first two nights. Feeling a little pressure, been braggin’ this bite up for 3 years now. Finally got them to come fishing with me. I hope I can put them on some fish!!!
Send me a PM if you are going to be up next weekend and chat on the radio about what is working.
September 7, 2005 at 12:47 pm #382500Kooty, I will be up after work on Friday the 16th. You should have talked your buddies into the October Full Moon . That would give you a little bit to figure it out and also make them frezze a little more
September 7, 2005 at 1:58 pm #382518Rob, I will be up there too. I have to go to Spencer’s now and find some stuff to hide in Denise’s house while she is gone…
Unless by some weird circumstance she decides to be nice to me…September 7, 2005 at 2:28 pm #382526Kooty,
Just remember that your first, go-to color is CLOWN!!!!
Right James!?!?!?!?!?!?
September 7, 2005 at 2:34 pm #382528Tuck,
I’ll try to remember to give you a jingle when I get on the lake
September 7, 2005 at 3:19 pm #382552I’m planning on being up there Friday (16th) too. Then it’s bow in hand for the rest of the weekend!
eyefishingPosts: 61September 7, 2005 at 5:54 pm #376545Doesn’t anybody hunt forest chickens anymore? That is where I’ll be. Sure has been tough the last several years, but still a good time.
September 7, 2005 at 6:09 pm #382590I sure wish that i could be there, as much as you tell relatives not to get married this time of year they just won’t listen how can someone really plan a wedding on bow opener good luck to you guys!
September 8, 2005 at 5:11 pm #382777Why don’t we have an IDA get together at the Blue Goose on the morning of the 17th to share stories. Say around 8am???? Any one interested??
September 8, 2005 at 5:17 pm #3827788AM might be a little early for me. I’m typically not getting off the water until 6ish. Depends on the bite, weather and my partners. I’d say a lunch deal would be better for me personally. I can suck it up and make just about anything you get planned though.
September 8, 2005 at 7:16 pm #382799Fellow members
Sorry I can’t make the lunch on the 17th, but I will be up there on the 10th of October. What I need is help with a place to stay for the night of the 10th of Oct. I will be arriving around 10 am and plan on fishing till around 4, coming in to a cook dinner for my guide and myself and going out to fishing the first half of the night until 12 or 1 AM. Sleep for a few and have a home cooked breakfast and head back home around 11 AM. to pick up the bride who will be visiting our Grand-daughter in Shakopee. Any names and phone #’s of kitchenette type two bed resorts would be GREATLY appreciated. I would like to stay in the Garrison area.
Thanks “skpike” – Roger Budny

September 9, 2005 at 3:34 am #382872Hunter’s has cabins as well! They are an IDA sponsor!
Can’t beat the food!
TuckSeptember 9, 2005 at 12:12 pm #382901I’d like to nominate Hunter’s Point french toast for the “Best French Toast in the State” award!!!
September 9, 2005 at 4:07 pm #382944And as a new visitor to Hunters, when you enter the bar for the first time, ring the bell. Its a great way to make a bunch of new friends for the night, quick.

September 9, 2005 at 4:55 pm #382843James why do I get the feeling that besides getting new friends I would be getting a LARGE BAR TAB?
skpike
September 9, 2005 at 5:44 pm #382841Well that would be a fair trade, right?
But you are right, ringing the bell does has some consequences.
September 9, 2005 at 7:18 pm #382951Just got off the phone with a lady from a resort in the NW corner. She said the fishing has been pretty good the last couple evenings. Lots of slot fish! I take resort info with a grain of salt, but I’m still confident the bite will be good.

Too funny!September 12, 2005 at 12:46 pm #383329I think that’s right Chappy. I’ll have to verify with Tuck though. He told me the other day, but I can’t remember for sure. Chris?
