I heard today from a good source that the Fishers launch has been getting a few walleye while making a few stops along the sand breaks up in the Fishers/Malmo area. It has been a few years since we have had a late summer/fall sand bite! Worms for bait, not leeches!!!
I plan to make a run up there this weekend and will report back.

The last year I heard of a good day bite on the sand in late August – September we just annihilated them up there at night in the fall.

Yes! I’ll be getting up to the lake around 9pm Friday. Plan on hitting the water shortly there after. Not planning an all nighter, but will put in a few hours on the east side rocks. I’ll have an open seat if anyone is interested.

    Oh Gee……….

Now after telling the dept. of war and finance (the better half) I would not be fishing this weekend this rumor pops up. And my thinking is that if it is true this would be an awsome opportunity (hardly any snags) to teach my boy the fine art of rigging……

Bobber, is this rumor a day bite?

Keep track of those fish, guys. Mama and I will be fishing out of Agate Bay Sept 8-10 and we’ll need all the help we can get especially since the poc boat doesn’t go out 6 miles.

I made a trip up to the sand on Saturday am. Fished maybe 2 hours and moved to the rocks. Managed only one walleye in the rocks. The wind was blowing pretty good both Saturday and Sunday.

    Bobber,

You should have stayed down on the south shore!! It was a great rock bite in 3-5′ of water. My partner and I pulled a little over 31 pounds in the MTT tournament Sat. and Sunday. It was good enough for the win!

Was out from Barnicles’ last weekend after muskies..Every time we trolled off the break we saw a ton of fish on the bottom side. We thought for sure they had to be walleyes on the screen. Needless to say, we saw a family come trolling by using lindy’s, jigs, etc. They were only in site for 5 minutes or so but we saw them land two fish in the 20 inch range.

    Thanks Derek.

Are night crawlers on the bottom side of the break the area to start looking?

If it were me, I would pull spinners with minnows or cranks off the deep gravel or mud.
