Deep Diving Crankbaits and planer boards continue to produce fish on the big pond. I had the opportunity to fish the entire day on Sunday with a long time friend of mine (Joe). Deep Diving Tail Dancers caught all of our fish and proved once again that this lure fools those elusive big females.
Pictured above is Joe with a very fat 27 incher. This fish put up a great fight and actually went toe to toe with Joe at the boat while we were still trolling.
We worked hard all day and continually checked our lines for debris due an algae bloom. We did not mark a lot of fish and we had to cover a lot of water. Patience was the key and we had a dry spell when we did not catch a fish for over two hours.
Persistence paid off and we ended the day catching 9 fish (16, 18, 20, 23, 24, 24, 25, 25 and 27 inches). It was a great day to be on the water especially when you have the chance to spend it with such a long time good friend.
Not sure when I’m going to be back up there again. Headed to Luddington, MI for 4 days hoping to catch some big kings!
