is it contagious? could I have picked up a virus thru this site?

Well it appears so. I woke up sunday morning to my boat crashing on the rocks in front of my dock. the front rope busted and the boat swang around in the wind and then must have taken on enough water to sink the back end so now I have a relay switch problem from the ingintion switch to the motor nothing like a brand new honda not working for some fun anyway got it working semi ok. still either shorts out or something occasionally and won’t work properly.
when I turn it over I have to keep the starter engaged and put it into gear otherwise if the key goes back to “run” it shuts off. and if I don’t it make an horrible noise also when I play with the trim I said play with the trim. well the engine will power from 40mph down to 10mph then back up

I am going nuts here and the guys in shakoppee said they couldn’t get to it until next week. WHAT how am I suppose to make it through the weekend

as for a report. I launched the boat and put it back on the trailer for fun and was home in bed by 730 am ended up working all day yesterday, what a joke!

    any thought or suggestions

In the first pic, I knew those key things float……but to hold up the entire boat form hitting bottom WOW! Now that is floatation

    Wow! What a mess.

First question. Did you drain every drop of gas? You probably have water in the tank. One thing you may want to try is running you motor with a remote tank and fresh gas.

as far as the motor goes, I drained all the carbs ( made sure there were no bubbles in the gas or lines) took out the spark plugs and put some 2cycle in the ports and turn it over with out the plugs to check for water shooting out, nothing

the gas tank was close to empty (5-7gallons left in a 20gal tank) the tank didn’t have any water in it as far as I could tell, but drained what I could and filled up with new 100% gasoline and a bottle of seafoam.

I am convinced its electrical and not mechanical, so I might have to have some ideas, my buddys a master electrician so I will talk to him tonight at softball.
