I rented a small cabin for Mama and I June 22-26, sight unseen. I’ve only seen the place from the water so does anyone have any info as to what I am getting into here? You guys fishing Hunter’s tourney will have to tell me where not to go so I don’t bother you.

Putz, I usually put the boat in there. Have been for the last 4-5 years. I have not much more experience with the place than that. It seems pretty well kept. My girlfriend says the bathrooms are celan, they have a fish cleaning house, protected launch/harbor, close to good fishing. You will have to let me know how it goes.
heimdawgPosts: 156June 14, 2005 at 3:08 pm #368146Hi Putz
Let me know what you find out. I need a place to stay in September. I went to their website but it just talks about their fish houses.June 14, 2005 at 3:49 pm #368157I just called last week and was surprized to find that they had mid-week openings on short notice and at $55 per night for a small housekeeping cabin, it almost made me suspicious. I will report back.
I do have a GPS, Derek. This old rookie can use all the help he can get.
Cajun lutey. Is that what happened to your teeth, Mack?June 14, 2005 at 6:28 pm #368200I ahve been fishing out of there for 10 years. A buddy of mine keeps a fishhouse there and we normally stay there. i have seen the cabins a few time. Nice enough for my taste. Nothing fancy but I would say pretty typical for a rental cabin. Great spot to fish out of. Nice access and boat storage unless the wind blows just right. Good luck and let us know how you do.

June 14, 2005 at 11:06 pm #368254Putz, Mack’s teeth got that way from eating Lutey!
I will be up there the same time staying at La Villa Hukriede. ElRoy is bringing his 5th wheel. Give me a holler, and I’ll stop by for a beer with you and Mrs. Putz! (Maybe even a fish fry!)
TuckJune 15, 2005 at 12:07 am #368269Uh Oh. Do I smell the start of another mini-get together? Maybe we could take over the resort one night.
June 15, 2005 at 1:08 am #368273I am thinking of it more as a scouting mission. The wife wanted to bring the kids up there. Price sounds right!
You can be the guinea pig!
It would be fun to have a beer with you and the Mrs. again!
TuckJune 15, 2005 at 2:26 am #368297No problem, Tuck. You are welcome. Mrs. and kids too if they are up there.
June 15, 2005 at 2:37 am #368301I am going stag all week. She was talking about a different time. There will be enough estrogen up there at Hook’s and Big D’s without adding to it. There will be a bunch of us guys hiding out in Hook’s cabin and ElRoy’s 5th wheel. If you need to step out and get some milk and eggs…You know where to find us!
June 15, 2005 at 11:37 am #368337Yeah Putz,
You’ll be able to find your way to the fridge. Josh has been cleaning up the place.
Hope he made my old bed? He’s even been cleaning out the fishhouse!
June 15, 2005 at 12:23 pm #368348Josh Always busy with something. Takes after his dad. Relax a bit would ya!
June 15, 2005 at 1:00 pm #368355Good to have kids around. Don’t know if I could find the place when I’m sober though. Might run into the hen’s nest by mistake.
BTW, did the community Schnapps bottle get taken care of over opener? Hope so, since I forgot all about it.
June 15, 2005 at 2:36 pm #368388I’ll be ralaxing all next week out on the water!!!
See you guys up there
Josh
June 15, 2005 at 3:40 pm #368408There was so much DNA on/in that bottle that I think it cloned itself and looks like Big D, and sells cars in St. Cloud.
June 15, 2005 at 8:53 pm #368497I see almost all of you have fished the area around Agate, I am taking my Dad out fishing for Father’s day over the upcoming weekend and will be launching from Agate. It has been a couple of weeks since I have fished the lake and from what I have read the fish are in the transition stage from shallow rocks out to the flats. Any advice as to where to start looking saturday morning? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated…
