I know this is an open question, but I have spent many days on mille lacs so far this year..and the biggest fish I’ve seen in my boat is 23. I have had a few friends that have gotten an occassional 25 or 26 out there, but usually by this time of year and water temps I have seen at least a few more big fish to the boat. I have caught alot of fish this year, but surprisingly alot of 18-21. Is it a forage issue again for the big females this year? I know that a few that we have kept have spit up several 3 inch perch in the livewell. What do you guys think that know and fish the lake alot more than me? Don’t get me wrong…compared to last year, I will take the fish we ARE catching. Just wanting to get some opinions.

We have a 25″ and 27″ in my boat. That is usual for my boat at this point in the season. I am suprised that there are not more 21-14 inch fish.

I’ve only been on the lake two days, both have been much better fishing than the last couple of years, I’ve never caught a fish over the 28″ limit on Mille Lacs but this year have 2 at 27″ or a little over. It looks to me that all in all this is going to be a great year for Mille Lacs.
