The Bass opener is Saturday(05.28.05) and there has been not one comment made about it. I know there are lots of people looking forward to this and even planning on fishing the Bass opener. So my question is, why is no one talking about it?

Granted, I know how tight lipped Bass fisherman can be.

OH it’s a big deal………….and I’ve been talkin about it for the past two weeks.
Ofcourse I may have stopped talking about it recently because I actually will be heading to WI this weekend to Bass fish.
Good luck everyone, hope to see some pics of big bass after the weekend.

Well, for me I can not wait but I usually wait till mid June. Get past the long weekend (pressure) and the FLW. I will be on a local lake, close to me, chasing chasing the elusive Grass Carp.

    Hey Blue,

It’s probably because real fishermen only talk about Walleyes! LOL

    Man…………… this was easy!

Yep Blue, we’ll tip a few.

Gary, thats a good one, I have to remember that. I’m pumped for muskie season! I will need to concentrate on walleyes for most of June, tourney season and all, but have some Buds coming up to chase the toothy one’s for opener. I’m sure we’ll take a couple hours to pull some of my new giant cranks for them too.

Their just a little smaller than water skis!

Eat all you want. It’s proven fact, your winky will fall off if you eat a Bass…. That’s why we throw them back

    Hey Gary,

Real fish hit top water baits!

I’ll be out there Saturday in spite of the weather. As of last weekend the it didn’t look very good yet. On my favorite Bass lake the weeds are way down and the water is very cold and clear, a lot like last year’s opener which wasn’t very good. My guess is that I’ll fish small baits and fish them slow, at least to start with.
And then to top it all off my outboard is in the shop I doubt I’ll have it back in time for this weekend so I had to resort to plan B. My Grandpa’s old 1963 Sea King 5 horse has been sitting on a saw horse in the shed for at least the last 6 or 7 years. Last night I stuck it in the drum, gassed it up, and it started in the third pull! I concluded that Grandpa wants me to go fishing on Saturday.

Good luck to everybody this weekend

Now kids, just because bass fisherman are inferior to us walleye guys doesn’t mean they should be picked on like this. Please play nice with the slow kids, I mean bass fisherman. Just kidding, sorta.

Gary’s favorite toothy critters are famous for blasting top water baits! It was a nice try though!

Blue – knew there was I reason I throw ’em back too!

I may hit the pond for some bass on Sat. if the wind lays down. Otherwise I plan on starting on Platte/Sullivan and then hitting Bordon on Sat. afternoon/night unless there is no wind on the Pond. On Sunday we probably will hit Mille Lacs all day and then it would be smallies and eyes.

Who knows what Monday will bring?
