We will go out at midnight again, and give us another reason to ask “Why the he!! did we do this again?” 
Hopefully not. We have had a lot of fun at midnight years past. But it seems that ever since the Indians started netting in front of Bob’s house, the whole slot sized fish population has been greatly decreased. May 10, 2005 at 1:35 pm #362231It’s taken it’s toll on the shoreline fish populations. We’ve noticed the trend the last 5 years where we’ve needed to move to deeper water to find fish on opener.
Fortunately they haven’t figured out how to net deeper waters yet.What next drift netting?

Was told that yesterday on the main lake my friend had about 47 degrees. Forcast says chance of freezing rain, or S-N-O-W the next 2 nights, and a forcasted high of maybe 50 degrees Sat..
I hope thats wrong, because I’m opening the season in the BWCA, which is usually 10-15 degrees colder than Mille Lacs.
