As usual, Bob and I will give you guy’s a head start, we’ll sleep in and go when the sun comes up saturday. We figure we don’t need the six extra hours fishing!

    Talks cheap, ain’t it!!!

But you guys REALLY need the beauty sleep!

You guys go ahead, I’ve done my share of sleeping….

Hopefully I will be the guy in your dreams setting the hooks into 3 @ 17.9999″ and 1 over 28″. We will go out at midnight again, and give us another reason to ask “Why the he!! did we do this again?” Hopefully not. We have had a lot of fun at midnight years past. But it seems that ever since the Indians started netting in front of Bob’s house, the whole slot sized fish population has been greatly decreased. Do you think 66k pounds of fish could do that to an area?

Why the 17.9999 Tuck? You are shorting youself 2 inches.

It’s taken it’s toll on the shoreline fish populations. We’ve noticed the trend the last 5 years where we’ve needed to move to deeper water to find fish on opener.
Fortunately they haven’t figured out how to net deeper waters yet.

    What next drift netting?

I agree with that as well. Cedar Bay use to put out loads of slot fish. We have definitely seen a decline.

I just got home from hauling my first load of stuff up to the pond for the summer. Was told that yesterday on the main lake my friend had about 47 degrees. Forcast says chance of freezing rain, or S-N-O-W the next 2 nights, and a forcasted high of maybe 50 degrees Sat..

I hope thats wrong, because I’m opening the season in the BWCA, which is usually 10-15 degrees colder than Mille Lacs.

I’m pretty confident that mosquitos will not be much of an issue this trip up to the BWCA. At least I hope not! I did pack my 100% Deet just in case though.

Bobber, I realize that you have pride on the line, but would you be willing to cough up any info about your scouting mission. Would you suggest shallow or maybe a little deeper? Maybe you could shoot me a PM so the rest of the crew doesn’t try to follow you around all day.

Putz, Big D is already up there. Besides, he would say bring it today!

I would guess between 5&6 to get things started. Hook, did you say you were leaving the cities at 3:00? We are leaving Hastings at Noon. We have plenty of fish.

No Lutey! Walleye don’t like cut bait!

Yep, were heading out about 3ish. Have to run out west and pick up a 1/4 beef this afternoon, so we don’t starve if we can’t catch fish. Were bringing a pasta salad, a big pasta salad!
Tuck, Arty should be there when you get there, make yourself at home, you know your way around!
    See ya up there.
