Perch????

Does anyone hit the mud for late ice perch? With the ice gone, I was wondering why the perch wouldn’t still be out deep like last ice?

They come into the bays to spawn in the hard bottom areas around cattail weeds. Isle Bay has some excellent spring Perch fishing.

Or any of the rock/sand shoreline areas around the lake will be good.

As Derek said, they are in close, but also, the ice is not gone yet! You might not see it from some shorelines, but there is still alot of ice floating around out there. And some of it is still kind of thick. A big wind will probably break it up, but it will also push alot of ice up into people’s back yards too!
