Also I might share my girlfriends secret for catching fish. It won us some good prizes in RedWings ice fishing contest last weekend.

Tim, you got room for another? Just kidding. I’m going to try holing up with Jim if he is coming. Winston just got back from Winnie so I doubt mama will let him go although he is up for Liberty. Do I need to bring onions and peppers?

Tuck, if you want to take your silent but deadly to the next level, I can bring some lutey.

    Hey Putz,

Jim was saying you and Winston will be up for Liberty. We will have the grills going, always do. It’s tradition!
We can tell stories about the Liberty tourney from years past when the wives would come out and fish with us. We had one where the high was -15 degrees 20 mph wind out on 7 mile. The girls sat in the fish houses and the guy kept there beers on the grills to keep them from freezing. It was shortly after that one the gals started staying in and just going to the raffles.

Smoked tulibee, crackers, and beer. Mmm-mmm. I’ve changed my mind. I’m going to fish locally this weekend and play with my new Marcum 400 so it’s ready for Liberty Beach next weekend. See you guys then.

HAS, you are a lucky one!!! George moved your rental house over to my hot spot today! We will be right out the back side of your rental first thing in the morning …..early…..Saturday. I know we will be starting there forsure may move depending on what I get Friday in another spot. You should have some small walleye action and more perch than you want to deal with in your house……..I hope!

I just got off the lake from a early morning perch run…..I kept 6 jumbo’s and lost a monster that got caught on the bottom of my ice hole not much you can do when there’s 30 inches of ice. This was one that made all others loook small. Thats just the way it goes……no bull

Cool, I haven’t been up to Mille Lacs yet this winter. Everyone tells me that it isn’t worth it. Lets prove them wrong and catch some jumbos. Just stocked up on some more gear at Fleet Farm. Now all I need is bait, does Hunter’s sell it, or should I stop at Petery’s in Finlasin(sp)a.k.a the stickle back capital of the world. The count down has begun.

Not unless you are drilling in a perm.house…..I think I still 8-12 inches left as I cut through…….not snow left on the flats…..I’ve been driving around pretty good with a 4X4 truck. You have to watch out for some drifts.

Minnow and a bobber. Pout are predator eaters just like walleye. Thats why its important to release them if your not going to eat them. They help to keep the bait fish in check

    Cooked pout:

Bring water to a boil in a pot. Add some Old Bay crab boil(Isle super value should have it) and some fresh sliced lemon. Cut Pout meat into chucks and place in boiling water for about 5 minutes max. Dip meat into melted butter and garlic when done.
