Spent the last two nights on the lake and I would like to say we pounded the fish but that wasnt the case.Sunday night we fished out of Garrison working the weedlines and boated 2 fish one keeper and one 25 and had another 4-5 fish shake the hook. There was a short run from about 7:30-8:30 where we picked up the keeper and lost the others all in the same area.Last night we went out on the east side and hit the rocks.I started out by doe Island and we lost a fish right away then about and hour later we picked up a keeper.A while after that I headed over to Hennipen then Shaws then Big Point then Liberty then Lakeside then Flamingo and finally picked up another keeper within the first 5 minutes there.Well I thought I had finally found some fish but I was wrong. After working the area for about an hour I headed over to Agate Bay and picked up one more keeper before calling it a night. The water temp was 46-49.Out of the three fish cleaned only one fish had a very small perch in its belly wich baffles me because they are usally stuffed this time of year but you can tell by the size of these fish they havnt missed many meals lately.I will be heading back up on Thursday and will try to post a reort on Monday.Hopefully it will be better than this one.

Castaway, There has’nt been many out the last week or so……I think I saw you out on Lakeside the other night. Had to be you as there has’nt been anyone else out!

This fall fishing can be bad to just great. It’s sometimes hard to fiqure out. I sure don’t have all the answers……but thats fishing!

Just had ECNOOK stop by on his way out fishing today. He just got up to Mille Lacs, and is ready to get after some fall walleye!!!!

I talked to DeeZee yesterday and he mentioned he hooked up and lost 17 fish on Saturday night. 17! He did mention he did land right around another 20 or so but we’ve run into far too many of these shakers this fall. Obviously they’ve got the run of the buffet and just aren’t hitting aggressively.

    Thanks for the report.

Oh yeah, about the empty bellies. I asked all of my customers that took home fish in Sept. to let me know what they found when they cleaned them. The majority of the fish did not have anything in their bellies. Interestingly, when we had better fishing the guys cleaning fish the next day would report more full stomachs.

    For whatever that’s worth.

If you saw a boat out there last night it was me.I didnt see one boat on the east side last night so I guess I cant blame it on the traffic.

Yep, my home is straight in from Lakeside 3/4 mile reef. Tan siding with t/g pine on the gable end. Also large pine trees on south side…….can’t miss it! Wave next time by!

Another sure way to find him at night is to just shine your spotlight in the windows, that usually get a few lights on!

One common theme about these fish is a lot of “shakers” so far this fall. Do you guys think the abundant forage and high water temps just didn’t have the fish in the mood to feed agressively yet?? What I really want to hear is by Oct full moon they will be in-haling the baits!!! I can’t wait for next Thursday!!!

I’m still trying to figure out how James is going to handle three of us in his boat… ….Maybe we will just confiscate Dustins boat????
