The moon sure was bright last night, but brrrrr it was cold down here in the cities. Are anyone’s arms sore from wrestling walleyes?

We fished until about 10:30 and only picked up 3 fish. The weather was beautiful last night with the wind coming up slightly around 10:00. The cold really hit you when going into shore. Very chilly then.
There was alot of running around on the eastside last night, so that tells me it was slow. We saw very few lights come on or camera’s flash.
    Water temps were 63 degrees.

I fished from about 7:30 until 11 and wound up with five keepers. Dropped a couple more fish half way to boat. My eyelids were plenty heavy by the time I cleaned fish and drove home. Hopefully this weekend the action picks up a little.

We did “fair.” Just not enough fish like we’re typically see to call it good but it seemed like things are on the upswing. More of the 25″+ fish showing up and the guys went home with a nice 2 man limit of fish. The 22″ – 24″ fish kept us on our toes. Not huge numbers but we caught fish every where we went. LOTS of hard but short hits and far too many fish lost coming back to the boat for me to feel like we maximized our chances. This seems to be common on those very calm and bright moon light nights. Perhaps Mr. Walleye can see a little too good on nights like last night and can spot our attempts at fooling him a bit too often?

I fished all night last night on the east side and managed to get a limit of nice fish but it was slow going.# 5 clown shad raps worked the best. The fish wernt very aggressive and had quite a few short hits and lost some others. All the fish I cleaned had emty bellies. The water cooled a little last night so it should get better.Headed back up tonight to try it again.

    Castaway,
Is that all you do, catching fish?
Keep up the good work and the great reports. It is killing me being 3.5 hours away, but hopefully I will make it up there in mid October. Got any pics?
