Not yet official Mille Lacs Ice Out 2014.. May 7th

    It’s not official yet but I’m hearing from a very good source back home that that ice out on Mille Lacs will called as of today

    Not in Vineland Bay. Ice as far as I can see in all directions

    You have to crawl on top of the big wall of ice that is blocking the view.

    Modis Today satelite largely obscured by clouds but seems to confirm that most of ML is blue except sw side.
    Anxious to view rest of no. MN tomorrow.

    I’ve always wondered what is considered “ice out”? Is it when every piece of ice is off the lake?

    I was by wigwam bay at 2oclock today and there was ice as far as I could see.

    For Mille Lacs it when you can run a boat from Isle to Garrison and not run into any ice.
