Gotta love the KISS approach suggested here. Sometimes we get carried away and try to be too cute. Mother Nature has proven over and over again that she can take care of things if given the chance.

wiether people like the regs or not..mostly not… there is no reason for the secret process..lets be up front about what is being decided and why..that way people can atleast argue about the factors being used to make decisions

Most of the issue relate to the time period when neting began again. Yet it seems that it is always something else not tribal netting causing issues for Mille lacs. Seems simple to me. End tribal netting lakes gets better and more people visit the area and spend money around the lake including the casinos. Everyone wins.

Has there been any official talk about possibly opening ML to pike spearing?

I’ll keep posting this until someone gives me an answer. Why do we target small fish under 17″. Those fish haven’t got a chance to reproduce and they don’t provide much meat. I’d rather take two 20″ fish than four 16″ fish. It tastes the same, as much meat, killing two less fish and a 20″ fish got a year or two of reproduction in. Where am I going wrong here?

    TWO WORDS

    “Treaty Management”

both the bands that net and the anglers are given an allowance by weight each year. Small fish weigh less and allow more to be kept. Two fish over 20 inches will add up much faster with weight in mind.
