I feel for my friends up at Mille Lacs who are working their tails off to re-open roads and get houses off the lake. As tough as it was deciding to leave our perm shack on shore this year I’m definitly glad we did.

Here are a couple pics I swiped from the FB pages of my friends up at Red Door and Appeldorn’s.

Do those places charge you the same price if you leave your house in storage for a year or two?

Depending on the resort, but as I understand there is a larger storage fee that you pay whether it goes our or not and then an additional fee for pulling it onto the lake. However, it recently got more complicated with local ordinances requiring that houses could not be stored in dead storage without additional tax/cost issues for the resort so it may be only be offered as one fee now. Luckily we had ours stored on property so it didn’t cost us anything to leave it on shore for a year… We also would have been relying on friends with a plow to get us off the lake which is why I’m extra glad we didn’t put it out.

Well I was kind of thinking about fishing a tourney up there in a couple weeks but looking at that I better just stay in Wisconsin. I don’t think the wheelers will be of much use over there right now, its rough here but that’s nuts!!

    Pic of the day

This pic was taken late on Tuesday from a fish house out on the flats! I needed the blower truck to get to this house! big snow banks surrounded this house. The blower truck was a life saver with this task!

    Wowser….

Last time I had a house on that lake Bob we had to go looking for snow to bank it. Remember those years? Thats some tough work tending those houses.

That’s crazy Bob. I was very glad to see on FB last night that you had all your houses off the flats already

Yes, but we still have around 15-20 near shore that need to be pulled. Around a dozen are also staged near shore waiting to be places in there spots in the fish house parks.
Now we have 30+ mph winds messing up the lake even worse…..and yes, glad there aren’t any house real far out!
    I’m ready for a vacation…………
