I promissed a report. This past Saturday, 2/8, my son and I got out on Mille Lacs armed with some good tips from IDO members. A special shout out to MXSKEETER for helping me adapt my boat’s fish finder for use on the ice. I got the NAvionics app for my phone as advised by a couple of other members. Those items worked perfectly. We saw a bunch of fish and were able to tease a few, but we didn’t catch anything. (We had shiner minnows on a couple of tip ups and we used jigs with fathead minnow heads.) We tried to go back out Sunday. The idea was to try targeting perch, using smaller jigs with waxworms. But we only lasted about 20 minutes as it was 14 below and everything was icing up like crazy (including our bodies).
