The Red Door Resort ice report for 12-11-13
We spent some time plowing the access today. Still dealing with flooded areas. The areas that we measured 5 inches on Monday are now around 7 inches today. I did find one area that had 9 inches but this was an area that had flooded and refroze adding to the top layer. This will be a common thing to be aware of. Out beyond the plowed area are some wet spots. These areas have water under the snow around 2+ inches. The atv has a real difficult time with these areas. You do not want to stop or slow down in a wet spot.
If all goes as planned, we will have the access open for foot, atv and sled traffic this weekend. Make sure and not travel alone. The conditions are such that getting stuck would be a problem by yourself let alone with some help.
