heading up also in the AM Saturday to do some lead core. What has Brad started? Be in a green and white sylvan and be in the middle of nowhere where it seems it is getting busy, perhaps I will run into you.

Considering a run up this weekend also…get the lead out! I like it! What size and color do you like this time of year?

Purple Clown Flash Rapala TD-11s in Purple Clown Flash and Clown are my favorite colors, Storm Deep Thundersticks in Hot Chrome Perch and Chrome/Blue have been my go-to’s in the past but have done very well in limited time with the Scatter Rap Minnow last weekend and will be running them both in the open basin and around the flats this weekend, so far my favorite colors are Gold Alburns and Hot Steel.

You want to troll with me tomorrow John? I’ll be up mid morning and need to get out and give my boat a shakedown run after some repairs.

I got out with my wife on Wednesday in the heat! We didn’t get in to them in a big way or anything, but we managed 7.

We had limited time on the water so it wasn’t all bad.

A little bit of lead and a little bit of corking. Good luck to all this weekend.

I am happy to report that we got checked by DNR. They checked license, coolers, and livewells. I hope they continue to drop the on the folks that are not following the regulations.

It was slow for me. Ended up with 6 eyes between 20-27″, and a perch and smallie. Best baits were #9 flicker shads in purple and pearl white. Tried so many baits and colors I can’t tell you how many. Only place I found fish that
did bite were close to the flats not in the basin. I marked fish in the basin, but couldn’t get them to bite.

We were getting about 2-3 fish per hour on Friday afternoon in the basin which is definitly on the slow side but not terrible. For some reason even though we were fishing in big waves the larger baits long lined behind boards were much better than leadcore. Rapala TD-11’s caught 90% of our fish.

Saturday we switched up and fished smallies.

I found a few in the basin also on TD 11, but had better luck up closer to the flats. Better bite was on long lined boards, but lead got a few. Not as good as I had hoped, but I am not giving up!

the corking bite out of Garrison on the mud in 26 FOW in the evening was pretty good. Was surprised to see all the boat trailers around the lake, was nice to see the resorts and launches getting some good business.
