I was just looking at the lake cams and the north shore looks to have a fresh hatch of bugs. Might be a fun weekend

I want to say IDO had a video for that exact scenario. Dragging a small jig with pinch of crawler I thought was the ticket.

The song lyrics echo “now you see what I see…..” LOL

If there is that many on the small camera lens, you oughta see what 32 ft. of glass on the lake side of the house has on it. And it ain’t even started yet!

I fished last night and we had a few bugs in the boat. They weren’t too bad but a still a nuisance. As the sun went down, they disappeared. Hopefully they will clear out by this weekend.

It was a beautiful night with calm conditions. We pulled crankbaits in 13-15 of water off of weedlines and breaklines and ended up catching 27 walleyes. Most were between 22-26 inches. We were also able to keep 6 between the slot limit.

Here’s a more detailed report: Trolling Crankbaits in June on Mille Lacs Lake

Saturday night it was the smaller bugs, midges I believe they call them. The water was full of bug slicks floating by as the sun went down. Maybe seen half a dozen actual mayflys on the eastside

Some of the lake cams are full of bugs this morning. Must have been a good hatch last night
