It stormed really hard last night. We fished the morning saturday and caught four with three keepers. The wind is making it interesting to say the least.

    Heading back out this morning.

I was able to spend 5 days at the cabin and did get out on the lake a few times. Jon J and I were able to find a few nice keepers on the shallow rocks in the evening and on deeper rock/gravel bars during the day. I did not have any picture fish this trip but we ate 2 meals of walleyes and I did bring 4 more home. After finally getting some sun and nice conditions on Wednesday we even made a trip out to the mud flats. Not much to report for a bite but we had a chance to put the new Navionics 1 foot contour software to use. All I can say is Fantastic!!

Dinosaur: Where did you get the software, I have fishing hotspots and it isn’t very accurate, the north garrison ramp is about 200ft off and the bottom structure is about the same all it does is get me in the general vacinity. Do you know if Navionics works with a Garmin map 162?

You can get Navionics for Garmin in the 3 foot contour. The 1 foot is currently for Lowrance units. Wade at Jolly Ann carries the chips. http://www.jollyannsales.com

Dino, I tried to call Jon a couple of times. Sounds like he really likes his new 4800 and chip.

I’m with you Dino! If any one fishes Mille Lacs and has an Eagle or Lowrance the 1″ contour map is umbelievable (at least the flats and breaks I have fished so far). I just hope it is as accurate on the other 3 lakes. Does anyone have info on the accuracy for the other 3 Lakes?

Reelbottom.com has the new chip on the website. It is called the Premium chip, zone 10. This mmc card contains approximately 90 lakes. Reelbottom 1ft contours are available for Mille lacs, Winni, Tonka, White Bear, Gull Leech and Forest lake. The other lakes on the mmc card show 3ft contours and the fishing hotspots maps.
