Well when I got up this morning and found to my great surprize we had our first hatch of lake flies. This is always a great site to see first thing in the morning……..that tells me that the water temperature in Mille Lacs has warmed enough to hatch these toothless critters……….

Ya, some call them May flies……they hatch out of the lake so I’ve always called them lake flies. Winter winds and lake flies are the negitives to living on a big lake

    Bobber,

What have you got for water temp at your place? I was still only reading 51.6 degrees on Monday.

DeeZee, I have not been out since Sunday morning. Had 51.5 in the shallow sanding areas at that time. Its been cold all week, I don’t think we’ll see much change anytime soon?
