Hi All! Some friends and I are looking to get out this weekend. We had some luck this spring and summer around the 5 mile gravel area on the south end of the lake and would like to try ice fishing around there. We do not have access to a snowmobile, does anyone know of an access that you can get to 5 mile from? Is there too much snow to travel off the plowed roads with a truck?

Most of the snow has blown into big drifts on the heaves and what not. Pretty much clear ice wherever you go. Once your over the crack on the west side out of twin pines a buddy and I were able to go from the 5 mile flat to the 3 mile reef to all over… The lake seems pretty healthy and I see no problem in getting to whatever destination of your choosing.
