October 18th
This will be our last open water fishing report for 2012 unless we have or hear of any newsworthy reports.
Our area has experienced less than great action, both day and night, the past week. Not many are fishing these days as well. All the good reports we have heard from via our guests are coming from northwestern shoreline stretches. From Myr Mar west and south have been best. Reports from our area( Knox Point) have been “tough” and “very slow” and “only 4 fish in two nights” and so on. But maybe the ones getting them are not telling us?
Daytime walleye catches at Farm Island ( 8 miles north) are good on big minnows/Lindy Rigs from the weedlines down to 45ft.
Duck reports are “pretty good”, grouse numbers “slow” and deer reports “great”.
Is your fish house ready? Still warm temps to get the work done!
THANK YOU all for a great open water season at The Red Door! One more full moon scenario is coming up so maybe one more trip in the boat this fall? Good luck to all who will be hunting this fall. We will be back with ice condition reports and all relative issues in that regard, most likely, by the end of November or early December. Thanks…
